If you have a valid discount code you can apply it to a subscription order in your cart or during checkout which will provide an additional discount on top of the 16% off for subscription purchases.
Some codes can only be used once and are therefore limited to the first subscription payment. Other codes can be used for a discount on all subscription payments and will be applied automatically before each recurring payment.
